The 12th president of the KCA Eun-Young Son
Dear all members of the
Korean Counselling Association (KCA)
I am Eun-Young Son, the 12th president of the Korean Counseling Association. Thank you for entrusting me with the vital task of becoming the Counseling Association's president at a critical time. I am not enough to take on the tasks that all members of the Association wish for, but I will do my best to make our dreams come true.
Our Association has achieved remarkable growth through the efforts of senior counselors who have been working to establish and develop the Counseling Association. Realizing the heightened status of the Association compared to the past, I am going to step into the future based on social responsibility and ethical awareness appropriate to that status. I bow my head in greeting for the hard work of those who made the Association, and I ask that you give your wisdom and strength to all the works that the Association will do in the future.
When I was elected as the next president of the Association last year, I presented three directions for running the counseling association. "From now on, my role, with everyone." This is the vision I should keep in mind while running the Counseling Association. While realizing the vision, I will solve various challenges of the Association and create new businesses. And I will share the achievements made by the Association with all of you and the people.

Since June 2000, when the Counseling Association was established, the Association has increased its members and sought internal stability by conducting appropriate education and training. Through the efforts of past presidents, Counseling-related bills are proposed by various political parties, and combined examinations are underway, accelerating the pace of legalization of counseling, popularization of counseling, and specialization of counseling we hope. Since our desire for legislation is based on the moral value of the mental health of the entire nation, I believe that our voices are empowered and meaningful. The management team and I will do our best to make that belief come true.

Since its inception, the Counseling Association has been operating each sub-department and local association with an attitude of 'separately, but together.' From now on, I will support each sub-department and local association to clarify their colors while increasing the number of works together for social contribution. I know that there must be the Counseling Association by the side of many people who are psychologically unstable with the rapid change in society. Therefore, I will support each association in fulfilling its duties according to its characteristics. In addition, by strengthening expert training and next-generation preparation education, I will strive to help them recognize their role in their position and fulfill their role faithfully. I will also help to make the colors of each association blend together.

The Counseling Association is a large association with 34,000 members and more than 8,000 counseling professionals. To fulfill the public responsibility appropriate to the status of our association, I newly established the 'Social Contribution Committee.' With this opportunity, I will actively seek out venues where I can demonstrate our expertise while actively responding to social needs. I will continue the various projects that the association has been doing so far, and at the same time, I will also strive to publicize the efforts of our members to society. I will also strengthen exchanges and cooperation between each local association and strive for solidarity between sub-departments. Finally, I will share new information and resources with all association members and strive for the growth of all association members by communicating together.
We all believe we can open, create, and maintain a happy world by informing and practicing the fundamental spirit of counseling. When my direction and the direction of the Association members become the same as I mentioned so far, momentum is generated. Based on that momentum, please encourage the executives and me to work appropriately for the next two years and move forward vigorously.
