Greetings fellow counselors, counselor educators and students
Welcome to the Korean Counseling Association, International Chapter (KCA-IC). KCA-IC was founded to respond to the rapidly growing and evolving demands of the counseling profession and to develop and facilitate innovative approaches to the practice worldwide. The first KCA-IC President, Dr. Suhyun Suh, championed the establishment of the first Korean Counseling Association (KCA) chapter based in the US, which now proudly represents one of the nine regional chapters in the KCA.
KCA-IC aims to contribute to the advancement of the counseling profession through ongoing education, research and scholarship, professional practice, and collaboration. Therefore, we are committed to providing all members with invaluable professional development opportunities in three domains:
- Members will be given unique opportunities to foster personal and professional relationships through mentoring and networking.
- Members will have an open forum to exchange ideas, publish and present research studies, and share information through the KCA-IC newsletters and conferences.
- Members can access various educational and professional development opportunities through webinars and our featured annual conference.
In addition, qualified members looking to extend their practice to Korea can become certified as licensed counselors through membership in this chapter.
We are excited to bring together inspired and driven members ready to channel their energy and efforts to move our profession forward and serve those in need. As we collectively work and strengthen our professional relationships, we can set the stage for growing together as a profession.
